Home Procedures Before & After Doctors Contact
A Prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has advanced training in the restoration of natural teeth and the replacement of missing teeth. A prosthodontist differs from a general dentist in that a prosthodontist has received 3 years of additional training after dental school in order to become an expert in advanced dental techniques.
Prosthodontics, or prosthetic dentistry, is one of the nine recognized specialties of the American Dental Association. As specialists, prosthodontists are experts in dental rehabilitation and are considered masters of crowns, bridges, porcelain veneers, dentures, dental implant restorations, temporomandibular joint related problems (TMD), congenital oral defects, traumatic oral injuries, bite and occlusion problems, and full mouth restoration.
A prosthodontist has the skills necessary to make smiles look and function in a beautiful and natural way.
If you agree with one or more of the following dental problems, than you need a Prosthodontist:
• Are you missing one or more of your teeth?
• Do you show signs of excessive tooth wear and breakdown?
• Do you have rampant decay (cavities) in your mouth?
• Do you wear a removable partial or full denture?
• Are you interested in dental implants?
• Do you have TMJ or TMD symptoms?
• Do you have difficulty chewing your favorite foods?
• Would you like to improve the look of your smile with porcelain veneers or cosmetic dentistry?
• Do you have loose or spreading teeth from periodontal (gum) disease?
• Do you need multiple dental crowns?
• Were any of your teeth damaged by grinding?
• Were you born with congenital anomalies that affect your teeth?
• Were your teeth damaged by certain medicines or radiation therapy?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you should seek dental treatment by a Prosthodontist to receive expert care.
